(CuSO₄.5H₂O)Copper sulfate Purity ≥ 98.0% CAS NO 7758-98-7
Description
Copper sulfate, commonly known as: blue vitriol
1. Properties: Copper sulfate is easily weathered when heated in dry air, and its surface turns into white powder. When heated to 110°C, it loses four crystal waters, and above 150°, it loses all crystal water and becomes white anhydrous copper sulfate. It is easily deliquescent when damp and easily soluble in water. Insoluble in alcohol, it reacts with alkali to generate Cu(OH)2 or basic copper sulfate.
2. Usage: used in the electroplating industry and raw materials for preparing various copper salts, as well as used as ore beneficiation flotation agents, chemical catalysts, pharmaceutical and pesticide disinfectants, insecticides, etc.
Second, the function of the activator is to form a thin film on the surface of the mineral that promotes the action of the collector. It is generally believed to have the following functions:
(1) Inhibitory film on dissolved mineral surface
For example, the activation of uninhibited sphalerite with copper sulfate is due to the replacement reaction between Cu2+ in copper sulfate and Zn2+ in the sphalerite lattice:
ZnS]ZnS +CuSO4 = ZnS]CuS +ZnSO4
Sphalerite Copper Sulfide Film
As a result, a layer of easily floatable copper sulfide film is formed on the surface of sphalerite, which has similar floatability to copper blue CuS.
